Guwahati: Police in Assam's Jorhat area have grabbed three people, including a minor, for their claimed association in harming religious notions by straightforwardly showing hamburger in a commercial center, an authority said on Thursday.
"Neighborhood individuals in the market questioned the open show... what's more, stopped a FIR with the police griping that it has harmed their religious notions," police said.
"In view of the FIR, we have captured them and delivered them in the court on Wednesday," the police official included.
The court remanded them to 14-days' legal guardianship.
While the two grown-ups were sent to Jorhat Jail, the minor was sent to an adolescent home in the town according to the court's request.
"Whenever scrutinized, the three conceded that the meat was hamburger. Be that as it may, we are likewise taking the assistance of the Animal Husbandry Department to learn whether the meat was hamburger or something else," the police said.
